capital and management resources, can become leaders in their respective
industry sectors. We look for investments that meet the following criteria:
Strong Management: The company must have a strong team with an ability
to manage early to expansion stage companies through periods of high
growth.
Clear Strategy and Business Model: The company must have a clear and
focused strategy and a business model that optimizes the long term value
of the product or service. Also, the company should be positioned to
maintain multiple exit opportunities.
Competitive Advantage: The company must have a technology or service
that has a sustainable competitive advantage with proprietary or patented
technology or a unique market position with proprietary access to capabilities
or know-how.
Large and Growing Markets: The company should be targeting large established
industries where they provide a compelling solution to a well documented
need or opportunity.
Superior Economics: The company must create significant bottom line
value through such things as increased efficiency, greater precision,
optimal asset utilization or higher productivity.
Commercial Stage: The company should have completed its product development
and have demonstrated evidence of initial market acceptance.
Strategic Fit: The company should have some strategic fit with other
Blue Hill companies and/or the skills and experience of the Blue Hill
team.
